How To Take Your Acrylic Nails Off

Instead of filing your nails in the usual way along the top edge of the nail youll need to thin out the entire area the acrylic covers.

How to take your acrylic nails off. Soak your nails in a bowl of acetone for 5 minutes. Once the acrylic has softened take your cuticle pusher or orange stick and carefully push the acrylic off your nail starting from the cuticle area to the free edge. Pour some acetone-free nail polish remover into a bowl making sure to pour enough so your nails can be fully submerged and put your fingers in.

Apply your acetone free nail polish remover into a smaller bowl. Remove your nails and use a nail tip or laminated card to wedge between the real nail and the fake nail. File or buff off the shiny top surface completely.

If the nail doesnt start to pop off easily enough place it back into the soapy water so the dish soap can continue to break down the bond in the adhesive. Cut your nails and file them away with your sturdy nail file. Move the tool around the cuticle looking for a spot where the nail will start to pop off.

You can soak your fingernails in a bowl of high acetone nail polish remover or pure acetone which will essentially melt off the acrylic nails. Cut them as close as possible to your natural nails. Take a wooden stick or cuticle pusher and gently scrape the acrylic or gel from your nails off.

Gently push the acrylic off your nails using a steel cuticle pusher. Wait 30 to 40 minutes or more if needed. Using a coarse grit file file off as much.
